The main object of research in this thesis is the theory of material transmission characteristics of the horizontally vibrating conveyor, and simulates the transmission using Matlab and Adams. The conveyor which vibrates in horizontal direction is a new type of conveying device. It can transport large lump material in short and long distance. The virtue of the conveyor is saving energy consumption and protecting the environment against pollution. The vibration is produced by an exciter with four shafts which have eccentric mass. Material is transported forward in the absolute sliding way driven directly by frication force. The exciting force in vertical direction is zero, and in horizontal direction is a special force. The transmission state of the material is composed by a liner movement and minor vibration.Some contents of this paper are below: One of them is to establish whole machine model, study the theory of transportation and analyze the dynamic characteristics. A numerical calculation method is put forward to solve the theory of material transportation. Second, the influence of vibration parameter, such as amplitude, frequency, exciting force, damping, on the velocity of material transportation is discussed. It can be referenced in engineering design. Third, analyze the conveyor using software of Adams, make up a suppositional model and simulate the transmission of the material, test the result using Matlab, And the fourth, the virtual prototype of the conveyor's constructed and kinematical simulation is solved. The methods and steps of material transportation and engineering design of the conveyor are put forward. Through researching the calculation and choice of some dynamic parameters, the calculating formulas and methods of choice of the parameters are provided which can be used in the design. It set up a design basis of the conveyor.
