Low strain dynamic test method is the most representative and popular way of pile integrity testing presently. However, this technology is still a developing practical technique, some problems still exist in the application and further practice is needed for more improvement.The article introduces the developing state and the strong and weak p- oints of dynamic testing method for foundation piles and some quality pro- blems easily occurred in common pile types at first. Secondly, in this paper, the analysis is based on a new software-ADINA and the current theory, creating three-dimensions model to discuss the reflected wave curve characteristics of the integrate pile with the change of the pulse width of exciting force, and use the analysis of each concrete disfigurement's affection which is one of the typical disfigurement in the five types simulated pile to summarize the skill of judging accurately the response-time curve in the low strain reflec- tion wave method. The dynamic response of a perfect pile under complicat- ed three-dimensions is simulated and the variable response curves of varia- ble pile diameters are analyzed. It is verified that test point is put near two thirds of the radius of a pile. Finally, the article gives low strain reflected wave testing a brief summary andanalysis of practical application.The results of the paper are significant to make clear the influence of variabedefects under actual situation.
