The GSM-R (GSM For Railway) communication technology which comes from the Europe railway, based on GSM platform, is a special railway mobile communication system which integrates with train public affair communication and in district communication. As the railway's own characteristic, GSM-R's network coverage style always adopts a method which combines surface-shaped coverage with chain-shaped coverage. The thesis mainly researches the problem about chain-shaped double redundant network and radio wave coverage. At first ,the thesis has introduced the difference between GSM-R system and GSM system, then analysed the double-decked coverage of GSM-R, in which the author mainly researches handover under the same address master-slave management of base station. Then the author works out an improved list produce algorithm about destination cell handover of GSM-R.Secondly, the thesis has analysed GSM-R radio wave propagation characteristic , and studied channel distribute model about its attenuation coefficient, time delay and the number of reflecting times, which starts with fading phenomenon of small dimension, and adopts multi-path channel model. And it also has discussed the impact of landform and speed over wireless channel parameter. The thesis, based on random process theory and queuing theory, mainly researches the rule of multi-path's path number distribution, and works out an improved method which is used to compute the path number of multi-path. The simulation shows that this method is more approach to the real measured data, compared with the ever used method which adopted Poisson distribution. Finally, the thesis discusses the speed's effect on fading rate and electrical level pass rate, which is two important parameter to the wireless channel.
