The clay is stiffness state or partly solid state while it keeps less water. But the clay mechanics intensity is capable to do a sudden drop that moisture content enhances. The most of the clay belongs to C , D Roadbed stuffing judging by our country " Roadbed construction standard" . The paper is on study that the clay, which belongs to C, D Roadbed stuffing, is able to be a roadbed bed bottom or not, after adding lime or cement in it.The paper gives first place to the experiment and the analysis and be tied in investigation. The content of the field survey include mainly collecting the clay samples and rough classification. The clay is classified according to the result of the experiment based on the physical mechanics character of the clay and the criterion, then, improved samples were elected. The clay was improved by calcareousness or cement based on the characters of the improved soil. The improved samples maintain by natural or soggy environment, and then the unconfined compression strength and the shear strength are tested. The maintain age is one day, three days, seven days and twenty-eight days. The percentage of cement is 3 percent, 5 percent, and 8 percent; the percentage of lime is 8 percent, 10 percent, and 15 percent. For researching mechanics character of the clay in the condition of the vibrational load, two typical improved samples are tested on dynamic characteristics. According to the theory analysis of the experimental result and requirement, which the rodadbed stuffing physical mechanics character should satisfy with the rail criterion, estimate feasibility of roadbed stuffing with the clay samples which are improved, and then confirme the optimal mixture percentage of the soil with the condensate.As the result of the experiment, the strength of the improved soil is highest and the other characters satisfied with the quirement, when the content CaCO3 is 10 percent. And then, from this experiment, the optimal content of CaCO3 is 10 percent. As so as concreted soil is concerned, the strength will be enhanced while the content is increased, but superscale make augment of the crisp. For this experiment on the improvement of the rail roadbed stuffing, the content of 5 percent is enough. So, the content of 5 percent is optimal. The above mixed percentage based on the experiment can get favorable effect as so as this rail is concerned.As the result of the experiment, the C D clay, which is improved with appropriate reinforcement and percentage, can satify with requirement of the high-speed rail roadbed stuffing partly. The result provides precious reference for LUOZHAN rail roadbed design and valuable experience for building the highspeed rail where the C D clay is distributed widely.
