With the raising operation speed of the existing railway, lateral amplitudes of 42m-span deck steel truss bridge exceed safety limits of specifications for railway bridges, which means lateral amplitudes is seriously lack and endangers the safety of transportation. In this thesis, reinforcing measures are given to enhance bridge's lateral amplitudes. The concrete work is as follows:1. According to analysis of mechanism of the steel truss bridge and technical requirement for lateral strengthing of 42m-span deck steel truss bridge, the specific measures to improve lateral stiffness are presented.2. According to structural characteristic of 42m-span deck steel truss bridge, 14 types of reinforcement schemes are presented.3. The optimum reinforcing scheme is obtained after the comparative analysis of bridge's natural vibration by the use of ANSYS and MIDAS and calculation of the bridge's strength and deflection checking.4. According to the dynamic analysis of a coupled vehicle-bridge system, lateral vibration characteristic of 42m-span deck steel truss bridge is evaluated after the comparative analysis of dynamic response of vehicle-bridge system.Analysis and reinforcement study on 42m-span deck steel truss bridge in this thesis has broad application foreground. This research has significant value of reference for disease treatment of steel truss girder within the jurisdiction of others internal similar steel bridge.
