This paper is aimed at the course of control engineering of mechanical undergraduate. The experimental systems related are mostly computer simulation systems or build by analog circuit, although some individual digital control systems, the price and the maintenance costs are very high. Analyzing the deficiency of current experimental systems is not conducive to cultivate the students' practice and ability to innovate, so the computer-based AC motor control experimental system is developed.The experimental system is consist of computer, PIO-821 data acquisition card, SV-iG5 frequency-transformer and a set of experiment units. The measurement and control experimental system of AC motor is developed based on the basic principle of variable frequency and speed regulation and Visual C++ 6.0 programming language environment. The experimental system can be used for all-digital variable frequency and speed regulation experiments of AC motor, and electric connection of AC wire wound induction motor, and the research of algorithms of computer closed-loop system and also Virtual instrumentation subjects. Besides, the experiment system can expand to other teaching contents such as AC synchronous motor, DC motor, stepper motor, AC / DC servo motor and so on. The experimental system possesses an attractive interface and can be operated easily and it is also very convenient for debugging and using. The software of the system is flexible, according to different control requirements, different control measures can be used for control, so it is more adaptive to changes in control. Meanwhile the teaching experimental system is designed to expand easily, which can meet the continuously updated teaching demands. Students can do the innovative experiments according to their innovative ideas based on the resources and the interface module.Practice shows that the experimental system meets the basic experiment requirements and achieves the goals of the design. The experimental system enriches the experimental means of teachers, ensures the effects of experimental teaching and provides a good platform for the students to understand the theory of the motor deeply and cultivate the ability to innovate and analyze and solve problems, and also displays the leading role of the students in the course of experiments, inspires the student's academic potential and raises the initiative and enthusiasm of the students.
