Design And Implementation Of Human Machine Interface And Control Software For Weather Facsimile Receiver

The weather facsimile receiver is one of the main approaches to get meteorological information for the offshore ships, and the weather facsimile charts received are necessary marine data for deep-sea ships. At the present time, compared with the same products abroad, the weather facsimile receiver of our country drops behind, it represents in three sides: the technique of shortwave receiving, the record means of weather facsimile charts, the control mode of the weather facsimile receiver.The paper represents a new blue print of weather facsimile receiver, and its control mode is based on the client/server mode, the control computer of the receiver is used as the server, special human machine interface software is installed in the computer of the client, the user can send control command to the server via the human machine interface of the client, the server interprets these command, and then accomplishes sending command to the hardware circuit, processing the weather charts, as well as sending weather charts to the client, the control of the weather facsimile receiver is finally carried out by the server and the hardware circuit.The client software is mainly made up of human machine interface for the weather facsimile receiver and network communication program of the client, the server software is mainly made up of network communication program of the server, CAN communication program, and image processing program. The paper designs and implements the software for the client and the server, ultimately achieves the goal of using the client to control the weather facsimile receiver, the operations of receiving, displaying, processing and printing the weather facsimile charts are all accomplished via the human machine interface of the client.The weather facsimile charts are recorded as bitmaps with sixteen gray-scales and saved in the server, when they are compared with the weather facsimile charts recorded with thermal sensitive papers by the weather facsimile receiver made in our country, the quality and the visual effect of the charts are improved greatly. The application of computer image processing technique also adds new function to the weather facsimile receiver.
