Matrix Converter(MC) is a novel frequency converter;It has many distinct advantages compared with the traditional frequency converter: 1) capapility of bi-directional power flow; 2) sinusoidal current input and voltage output; 3)independently adjust the magnitude,phase and frequency of the output voltage and the input power factor. It is very propitious to the adjustable speed drives. In this paper I have done some research on the motor control, especially on the asynchronism machine vector control and the application of the MC in the bruslessly doubly fed machine (BDFM) control system for the wind generation system.Deeply analysis have been done to the resarch of the basic topology, mathmatic principles and exiting modulation algorithm of the MC; such as the Venturini control methods, instantaneous value method and space vector control method.Based on those research a closed loop control method based on the hysteresis voltage regulation has been put forward.Computer simulation has been done using the simulation software Matlab.The simulation results have proved the effective of this new control method.The basic application of the MC is AC variable frequency adjustable speed system.In oreder to improve the performance of the traditional system.MC-Asynchronism Machine control system based on the Auto Disturbance Rejection Controller has been proposed.The system has effectively syncretized the advantage of the MC and the vector control of the Asynchronism Machine. The system can highly improve the performance of the AC adjustable speed system and reduce the pollution to the power network.In this paper, the application of the MC on the BDFM wind generation system has also been researched.especially on the maximum wind power capture, Decoupling control of the active power and the reactive power of the system.based on the variable structure conrol method. System simulation has been done by using the Matlab7.0, simulation result has proved the fast dynamic reaction and perfect static characteristics of the system. Based on the theoretically research, experimental research has also been done to the MC.We have successfully completed the experimental prototype research,by using the Venturini control method which have been introduced in the 3rd charpter. TIDSP2407 and CPLD have been selscted for the system controller.The DSP is used for the realization of the Venturin modulation method, and the CPLD for the four step current communication logic control. The open circuit experiment and the closed circuit experiment using 3 phase pure resistance as load has been completed.The experimental result proved the feasible and effective of the system.The research work has been supported by the important research projects funded by national natural science foundation.
