Taking the gully-shaped debris flows of Xinjiang Tianshan highway as the study object, the paper analyzes the forming environment and the development conditions of its unique debris flow. Based on that, the paper explores the movement mechanism of Tianshan gully-shaped debris flow (mainly including the movements and the dynamics characteristics) and preliminarily establishes corresponding theoretical models and formulas with measures including on-the-spot investigations, the inside and outside large-scale model experiments and simulation analysis, etc. Meanwhile, it attempts to supplement and optimize related projects'preventing and controlling design parameters so as to provide reliable foundation for future prevention of the gully-shaped debris flows of Xinjiang Tianshan highway.The research contents mainly include: the present situation contrast analysis between Tianshan highway's gully-shaped debris flow research and those of the domestic and foreign correlated research, the forming environment analysis of Tianshan highway's gully-shaped debris flows, the study of the movement mechanism of Tianshan highway's gully-shaped debris flows (mainly including the movement parameters and the dynamics characteristic parameters), the study of project preventing and controlling design parameters about Tianshan highway's gully-shaped debris flows and the model experiment contrast analysis between laboratory and scene of Tianshan highway's typical gully-shaped debris flow, etc.Based on domestic and foreign related research, the paper tries to explore a preventing and controlling theoretical design model for Tianshan (severe cold and high elevation) highway's gully-shaped debris flows. At the same time, it attempts to establish a unique characteristic parameter target system in such debris flow area. In this way, it will be profound for the future related preventing and controlling research and be rich of debris flow preventing and controlling theories.
