Power flow calculation is a basic tool for system programming, analyzing and operating in power system. Power flow algorithms have been put forward by the deep research of researchers in and abroad for several decade years. However, until now some problems that face in actual analyzing and operating department have not been gotten satisfying solving. In this paper, a steady-state Control power flow is proposed, which considers both given equality constraint and secondary frequency modulation of generators. It is used to solve the problem of given line power.Firstly, power flow models are studied, including common power flow algorithms, optimal power flow model and dynamic power flow model. Then the methods of solving equality constrained problem in power flow are also discussed.Secondly, this thesis proposes a new Control power flow algorithm considering given equality constraint and secondary frequency modulation of generators. This algorithm inherits the active power-frequency and reactive power-voltage static characteristics of generator units, avoids the assumption of PV bus, PQ bus and slack bus and different results with choosing different slack bus in common power flow, and eliminates the disadvantage that a slack bus takes on the imbalance power. It constringes reasonable operating result through equality constraints embed the equations of control power flow and participate in the self-regulation of generator units. It also involves secondary frequency modulation of generators which maintains system frequency at the rating and improves the quality of system effectively when system is disturbed and system frequency fluctuates at the large range. Finally, this algorithm is used to solve the problems that is both given line power and given line active power. It has been tested by IEEE 5 nodes system and New England 10 generators and 39 nodes system.
