Ship location technology is the basis of the entire warship navigation system, nearly all thefunctions of the system are on the premise of the ship location precision. Ship location precision andreal time nature are directly related to the navigation system practical value and the overall function.Therefore the error of the navigation system originates in the position error. At present, GlobalPositioning System has already got extensive use in fields such as fixing position, guiding, issuingthe official calendar acoarately. But GPS location error has a direct impact on the accuracy of GPS,It is only that knowing the causes to produce these errors thoroughly, the rational GPS receiverhardware and software system can be designed.First the GPS system error sources are analyzed in this article, mainly including satelliterelated, signal propagation related, receiver related. A brief introduction to the reason of the errors ismade. It provides the premise of analyzing the GPS errors on ship. The detailed analysis of shipGPS precision that is not major is made. It is mainly because that the ship ships in water, and itslocating mode, Environment .The reasons cause it to have the errors to create the localizationproblem. We can reduce them through some measures, the ship of the GPS precision can reach tothe certain magnitude. We make it to satisfy the navigation request, but in the port area, in the inlandriver route, crossing River and in the weather condition that at quite bad situation; we must usedifference localization. We adopt difference localization to be allowed to achieve thrice levelprecision; it is suitable for the ship navigation. We take the Wuhan Bridge and adjacent regions as ananalysis object, the introduction to the difference positioning system is made, mainly discussing basestation construction and data link as well as difference telegram text form And the tentative planestablishes the Yangtze River WADGPS positioning system, enhances the entire Yangtze River tobe possible for the navigation waters navigation security.Unifies VTS to carry on the dynamic management to the ships, the seacoast ships surveillance,the coordination and the management, and in ships aspect and so on transportation organization,ships navigation security and accident prevention play the huge role, it has the very strong practicalapplication prospect.The GPS application and dissemination is to aid to navigate a revolution of instrument toradio, will safe seaway of boat and ship be pushed forward to a new stage. That GPS is in on board applies to economy and all is feasible on the technology, can improve boat and ship seaway safety,to develop sight, the operation being able to reinforce boat and ship manages the GPS application,promote the automation that boat and ship driving and is modernized. It is deeply believes that GPStube able for the inland river as well as the navigation shipping development positive promoteraction.
