Steel manufacture needs a great deal of resource, such as power, coal, oil, water and so on. So the high dissipation of energy is the main characteristic of this industry. Giving that energy sources supply is very limited, thus economization has very important meaning for us. In the process of steel manufacture, power supply from blast furnace gas is can alleviate not only the situation of power supply limitation, but also environmental pollution from CO, which is necessary for the industry to get the great economic and social benefit. The key equipment in power supply from blast furnace gas is the boiler, and its automatization level and dependability is related family with the boiler function and the product quality.Based on the blast furnace gas boiler project in Ningbo steel Ltd., the paper constructs a DCS system of blast furnace gas boiler. The ethernet in this system is composed of engineer station and operator station, and the control layer is composed of AS 417H redundancy CPU and the its 13 redundancy PROFIBUS-DP bus, and the applying software is SEMENS PCS7. Basing on the structure of DCS system, the hardware and software of the DCS system is introduced in this paper, and then the whole design flow is addressed. At meanwhile, the arithmetic of 3 control subsystem is discussed mainly in the paper. The serial PID control with dead zone method is introduce in this paper for the control of water level in steam drum, and it can give a weight filtering for the disturbanced water level signal. According to predecessor experience, the paper has designed a improved brainpower PID control arithmetic, which mainly for controlling the furnace negative velocity and burning process. And the superheated steam temperature control adopts a Fuzzy-PID controller.In a word, the design of DCS system in the paper can optimize the whole boiler production process, improve the control accuracy and efficiency, which can make sure that the boiler production process is safety, stabability and economic, and at meanwhile it also can alleviate the operator's work strength, maximum utilize of blast furnace gas, solve the pollution problem, and realize the circle economy and continual development. The design and method discussed in the paper has great reference value for the similar DCS system of blast furnace gas boiler.
