Along with the rapid development of our economy, the traffic tends to be high-speed, traffic-intensive and driver-unprofessional. The traffic accidents increase dramatically own to the increasing of the number and the speed of vehicles. The people are paying more and more attention to the vehicle driving problem with the increasing number of vehicle accidents. The passive safety system focuses on the reducing of the injury caused by the accident, so the active safety system which focusing on the avoidance of the accidents is the trend of the vehicle safety technology.This dissertation first reviews the actuality of the Automatic Anti-Collision System in Intelligent Vehicle of the world. Then the Automatic Anti-Collision System which suits to the China's high way and actual conditions is constructed according to the situation of our road, driving habits and the status of the sensors. The laser ranging system is used in the system to measure the distance from the vehicle to the vehicle in front of it. The image system is used to watch the road situation real-timely. When it is necessary the system will alarm the driver and slow down or stop the vehicle to prevent the happening of the accidents. The main contents include:1) It is very expensive and difficult to use the millimeter wave radar as the front ranging device in common vehicle. The system proposed in this dissertation uses the developed special laser ranging system which simplified the structure and reduced the cost of the system to achieve the required precision.2) The real-time imaging system is utilized to watch the road traffic condition aiming at the limitation of the laser ranging system, and to enhance the system's reliability with the intensified control and decision-making ability.3) The assistance brake system which controls the brake and the accelerator pedal is developed to ensure the driver's safety aiming at the driver's miscarriage of justice and bad operation.The shortages of the proposed system and the directions for the future research are proposed in the end of the dissertation.
