With the increasing of vehicle speed, the bad effect of the aerodynamics on the vehicle stability becomes more and more obvious. So many engineers and technologists from auto companies in the world have put much more attention on the research of car body's styling day by day. Among means of car body's styling , the technique of reverse design has attracted car aerodynamicist's eyes. How to apply reverse design technique to the modeling of streamlined car body is mainly investigated in this thesis. On the base of wing profile theory, a streamlined car body that accords with the principles of aerodynamics has been devised.The technique of reverse design are studied and stretched on the foundation of literature related to car body's styling and wind tunnel testing in this paper. The history of car's modeling is summarized and the characteristics of car body's modeling in it's times are also analyzed from the view of car aerodynamics. Meanwhile,because of the close relations between any method of car styling and the techniques of curves and surfaces, the theory of NURBS in close touch with car body's styling is introduced simply.On the basis of the explanation of aerodynamic theory related with a vehicle with a high speed and the interaction between aerodynamic forces and vehicle body, the fundamental requirements of reverse design about streamlined car body are discussed in detail. And the basal steps and parameters that influence the way of reverse design are also interpreted at length. At one time, one streamlined digital car body's modeling that corresponds to the theory of vehicle aerodynamics.After the numerical simulation of digital car body ,that is to say the simulation of one model named G, the distributions of velocity and pressure along the longitudinal symmetrical surface of the model are researched and the external flow field around the G model are analyzed visually in this paper. The essential factors that impact the aerodynamic behaviors of racing car such as down-force and air-drag are explained profoundly and so do the mechanical connections between above two factors and racing car with a high cornering speed. Contemporarily, the primary computational aided modeling of racing car and the numerical simulation of it's outer fluid field are deeply explored.
