Underground wall rocks system is a highly complex nonlinear system, a constantly open system existing in the irreversible evolution, the exchange of materials and energy occurring between which and the external environment, and nonlinear is essence of mechanics features. The re-distribution of the initial stress within the wall rocks after excavation is the essence for the stability of underground cavities wall rocks, therefore the prerequisite is to obtain the initial stress field meeting engineering requirements. The theory and practice of research have done on underground engineering, in which many numerical simulation modes were used and the results shows reasonable.Based on the ANSYS simulation software, the text studies nonlinear elastic-plastic finite element theories about the underground caverns, and then understands the basic equation, the stress-strain relation and yield criterion of material under elastic-plastic elemental theories, and finally focuses on the method in underground caverns structural analysis of technology. Make a research on modeling technology and study the method in which modeling technology has been actualized with ANSYS through reading articles on the numerical simulation to hydraulic projects and combining the Three Gorges underground power station project. Establishing the 3-D finite element analysis model to underground power house of Three Gorges Hydropower Station, calculate the displacement and stress state of wall. rocks, analyze the stability of wall rocks and the results prove the stability of wall rocks. Predict the representative measured points' displacement of the underground powerhouse's key components which shows the displacement constringency and wall rocks stability according with the real practices.The analyses and research are based on underground power house of Three Gorges Hydropower Station which has the specific background of engineering. The studies show the results of the rock mass deformations prediction and the earth stress stimulation according with objective facts.
