On the base of analyzing the reinforcement mechanism of high pressure jet grouting, with deep and thick overburden cofferdam of big interstice as research object, the technique of handling deep and thick overburden cofferdam of big interstice with high pressure jet grouting is studied preliminarily in term of site test and analyzing the test result. Some research findings have been made after reviewing a few research achievements of predecessors.Firstly, the reinforcement mechanism of high pressure jet grouting is discussed and the main function of reinforcement mechanism of high pressure jet grouting that soil cement is produce by the physical and chemical reaction of soil and grout is put forward.Secondly, the property of soil cement is preliminarily studied with laboratory experiment and theoretical analysis. The character is pointed out that soil cement created with high pressure jet grouting is part of soil and its growth rate of late stage intension is obvious. These properties shall be taken into consideration in the design of high pressure jet grouting.In the last, according to the purpose of test, high pressure jet grouting site test of single pile and three pile in row are processed at the deep and thick overburden cofferdam of Xiangjiaba hydropower station, and the construction effect is detected with some test methods. According to testing datas and detection output, all kinds of technical parameters which are fit for construction of high pressure jet grouting of deep and thick overburden cofferdam in this area and the similar projects.
