| With the advancement of the computer technology in recent decades, there is apossibility toward developing steel structure advanced analysis suitable for design.Advanced analysis can be defined as a method of second-order inelastic analysis thatsufficiently captured the behavioural effects associated with structure limit states suchthat separate member of composition structure capacity checks are not required. The advanced analysis methods are consideredto a more effective and exact analysis approache for steel structures.In this paper a new second-order inelastic beam-column element was taken intoaccount effects of shear deformation, inelastic element of two types' steel brace wereanalysised, and the advanced analysis program for steel braced frame structueconsidered geometric nonlinearity, material nonlinearity, initial geometricimperfection, residual stress, semi-rigid connection was compiled successfully.The analysis and comparison of braced steel frame are conducted by advancedanalysis program and bucknell university's nonlinearity MASTAN2 software.Thetheory analysis method is proved correctly by calculatical examples, examples of steelframe structures, centrically braced steel frame structures, eccentrically braced steelframe structures were analysised by advanced analysis program, and obtained eachkind of factor to the different steel braced frame structure performance influence.At last, In this paper advanced analysis method for steel structure is proved thatcan be used design in ultimate limit states and serviceability limit states by threeengineering examples.Through application research of engineering example, indicatedthat advanced analysis can be widely use practical engineering. |
