Butterfly valve was one of the key parts for numerical cabin pressure control system, of which flux characteristics was very important. The flux characteristics of the butterfly valve in numerical cabin pressure control system were studied in terms of the numerical simulation method in this dissertation.The dimension of the valve was designed according to the flux formula, and then the model of the valve was built and meshed by using GAMBIT. After 3-D stead state calculating based on the S-A torrent model and coupled implicit solver in FLUENT, the flux values were got based on different states, such as valve angles, heights, and so on. Then the flux characteristics of valve were studied. Besides, the flux-inquiring software was programmed, which can easily calculate the flux value. Finally, the electromotor was chose according to the maximum moment of the valve.Comparing the results between the theory and numerical simulation, the flux characteristics curves were approximate by using the two approaches. The analysis in this paper indicated that the numerical simulation method was feasible, and also meaningful to the design of aircraft cabin pressure control system.
