Form Analyzing Of Low-Tech Ecological Architecture

By its technical methods, the Ecological Architecture can be divided into three levels: the low-tech, the light-tech and the high-tech. The Low-tech Ecological Architecture , through accurate technical analysis, uses mostly traditional architecture technique but little modern architectural technique in achieving ecological architecture. The light-tech Ecological Architecture, using the latest modern building technique to make buildings much lighter and more flexible, can really save building material and transport fees. For the High-tech Ecological Architecture, with its "High-tech" methods, tries to improve the energy efficiency of the building, builds comfortable architectural environment, and also helps to protect the ecological environment. In this article we are going to focus on the low-tech Ecological Architecture.The article analyzes the history and the actuality of the low-tech ecological architecture, reveals the connotation of the low-tech ecological architecture from four parts: the technical concept, the technical level, the technical measure and the applicability of technique. The article generalizes four form mode of the low-tech ecological architecture——the form of thermal accommodation, the form of pneumatic accommodation, the form of light accommodation and the form fit in with the landscape. The three expression principles of the low-tech Ecological Architecture are also discussed in this article——the transforming principle, the principle of metaphor and the growing principle. Hope this article can contribute to low-tech Ecological Building in both aspects of theoretical investigation and architecture design method.
