The in-phase and one way feeding mode have been adopted for the Overhead Contact Line System (OCS) in our country; and for the purpose of balancing the electric railway load of triplication-phase power system, different phase and sectioning power supply mode are adopted, so phase separation has to been set on the common boundary of different phases. With the speed of train being improved much, for the Phase Separation in the mode of Insulated Overlaps (PSIO) can avoid the problem of non-uniformity of Elasticity in the mode of part, so the phase separation has been applied in most High-speed line in all world. In china, no matter that construction or reconstruction line, PSIO has being adopted most. Just because PSIO is being applied widely, some arisen problem during electrical motive units (EMU) pass by Phase Separation have been think much of by many researcher and technician of engineering. The mechanism of electric course of EMU passing though Phase separation is researched and analyzed in detail in the thesis, largely including the mechanism of bringing forth over-voltage, over-current when main breaker of EMU is opened, and the analyse of electric arc caused by energized EMU burning phase separation.Based on the theory and equation of electric arc deduced, a emluator is compiled in MATLAB/SIMULINK language and its correctness has been validated at one time in the thesis. The math model of EMU is founded, and the wave of over-voltage and over-current is simulated when the main breaker of EUM is opened in order to pass though phase separation, and the simulant result is analyzed in detail. At last, the model of electric arc caused by energized EMU passing though phase separation is constructed, and simulation is done for the voltage and current of OCL in different length of electric arc.
