The study of permanent-magnet linear synchronous motor with electromagnetic low speed (PMLSML) is a new topic, the arising of rare earth permanent material provides PMLSML with great facilities for its development. In this paper, the fundamental construction and operating principle of PMLSML are offered, the additional magnetomotive force and equivalent principle are analysed. And then proceed to establish the five layers linear analysis model for PMLSML, meanwhile, magnetic flux density distributive expression of each region with motor performance parameters is deduced in terms of superposition principle. On the reasonable assumption that three-dimensional electromagnetic field of PMLSML is converted into two-dimensional electromagnetic field, and then a two-dimensional electromagnetic field analysis model is built. Furthermore, an magnetic field analysis to the motor model is carried on with the application of ANSYS software. On the grounds of the rational installment of motor parameters, the selection of empiric parameters, and the comparison between the calculated result based on deducible theoretical formula and simulative result based on finite-element method analysis software , the correctness of electromagnetic-field theoretical formula is explained , and the causes of error in the theoretical formula is analysed.
