With the continual development of economy in our society, with the continual increase of citizen's leisure time and with the increasing awareness of protecting entironment, outdoors recreation has become a popular style since the 60th of last century so that more and more people are swarming into city parks. However, owing to lack of forecasting and planning in early exploiture and basic construction, some problems have appeared in most city parks: such as in the low season, plentiful facilities are left unused; in the high season, recreational facilities can't afford to be used by so many people as to arouse a series of problemes. For instance, environment is polluted, resources are destroyed, soil is hardened, water is well-fed, biologic species are reduced, ecosystem is damaged and so on. Compared with plain parkes, mountain parks possessing such particularities as involuted terrain, sensitive ecosystem and sight instability, are confronted with more pressures. Mountain parks distribute on a large scale which is relative with the distribution of mountain in our country. The mountainous actuality leads to the distribution trait of mountain parks which is excessive and extensive. Therefore, it is the important assignment currently to look for logical recreational carrying capacity which can make using and protecting be harmonious. However, at present, the researches about mountain parks are wanting relatively but interrelated researches are about scenic areas or forest parks.This paper mostly discusses the system info about recreational carrying capacity in mountain parks, basing on correlative subjects and investigationes. It contains qualitative analysises and quantitative analysises about recreational carrying capacity in mountain parks by means of planning and design, adequately taking into account the relationship between human and environment. Finally, it validates its research theoretics taking mountain parks in Chongqing for example. This paper analyses actualities, existent problems, its causations and countermeasures through the unity of theoretics, method and technique, which is useful for the research about recreational carrying capacity in mountain parks. The research in this paper can make up the blankness in this field to a certain extent.The main points of the dissertation are as follows: (1)based on the previous researchers' study in this field, the author gives definitions of "Mountain Park" and "Recreational Carrying Capacity in Mountain Parks" ; (2)the paper analyzes factors effecting recreational carrying capacity in mountain parks by qualitative analysises; (3)using formula of carrying capacity in scenic areas for reference, this paper establishes the measure-model about recreational carrying capacity in mountain parks; (4)the application in Chongqing City Parks not only puts forward advice for park constructing ,but also validates the theoretics studied in this dissertation.The innovations of the research are summed as follows: (1) extending the basic theoretics about park constructing and recreational carrying capacity; (2)bringing forward solutiones for mountain parks which have been built and have some problems about recreational carrying capacity; (3) offering comparatively scientific ways and means in process of planning and standards weighing recreational carrying capacity.In conclusion, through the assimilation of research results from home and abroad, the author has applied a new theory and new methods in the research of recreational carrying capacity in mountain parks, and gives comparatively scientific referrence of theory not only for planning and constructing, but for weighing recreational carrying capacity in mountain park.
