This thesis devises a new type of steel composite truss coupling beams of high-rise shear walls which instide the traditional reinforced Coupling Beams. Duo to enough ductility of Steel coupling beams, In this study, experimental studies on the steel Cmposite Truss coupling beam were carried out. The main test variables were the span-depth ratio and stiffness.Based on the pseudo-static test of 4 small span-depth ratio Steel composite Truss coupling beams ,the author studies the composite coupling beam's failure characteristic, shear-bearing capacity, deformation capacity, hysteretic curve, stiffness, rigidity, ductility, energy dissipation etc. The test results show that: Steel Cmposite Truss Coupling Beams have fairly good mechanisms and Seismic Behavior ; A better Bearing capacity of SB-1 can be obtained when span-depth ratio is smaller and stiffness is bigger ;The new coupling beams are easier to construct than reinforced coupling beams. In the end the thesis gives some advices on steel composite struss coupling beam ,and points out the direction of the further study on this problem.
