Front- sheet pile and offside-high pile retaining system as a new structure has been applied effectively in the port and waterway engineering. But there are still a lot of ambiguous issues in the mechanism, the characters, the calculating method.In this paper, according to the actual working mechanism of Front- sheet pile and offside-high pile retaining system, with the use of principle on geotechnical engineering soil unloaded and theory about Pushi's arch unloaded, the model and the calculational method of Front- sheet pile and offside-high pile retaining system are advanced. A finite element program is used for the analysis factors of the behavior of the front- sheet pile and offside-high pile retaining system. Some on the lateral displacement of the retaining structure are studied such as the distance between the front and the back piles and the stiffness of the beams and the piles and the behavior of earth soil-resist springs. The conclusion of this research will be certainly valuable to engineering practices.Finally, the retaining system of the project of ShaoXian ship-break rebuilded is analyzed thoroughly in virtue of the calculation method prompted that has been used in this paper.
