Compound foundation with capped sparse pile to control settlement is applied to soft soil improvement at bridgehead. In recent years, it has been applied abroad in soft soil improvement of expressway. But be brand-new technology of soil improvement whose theory studying being behind project practice. While the mechanical property of PTC pile composite foundation is fairly insufficient, especially under embankment in the expressway. According to above discussion, combining spot experiment and finite element method, this paper study and analyze the mechanics character of it. Main content are as follows.1. Using finite analysis software ANSYS, a single PTC pile composite foundation model is established. And have analysed load-settlement, pile-soil ratio, pile-soil stress ratio, pile stress. Contrasting with test result can get that finite element method simulate result accords to spot experiment, witch explains that the model is feasible.2. Using finite analysis software ANSYS, a typical PTC pile composite foundation model is established. And have analysed cushion, the length of pile, size of pile cap, the distance of two piles, modules of soil, witch influence the mechanical property of PTC pile composite foundation.3. Based on the former study idea of other pile composite foundation, the calculation of stress ratio was conducted according to the result of FEM analysis. Combine Mindlin method and Boussinesq method, the additional stress and settlement calculation has been lay out. At the end, the thought of optimizing the design of the control settlement and sparse pile with cap composite foundation have been put forward.
