Research On Regional Characteristics Of Bashu Traditional Building

The phenomenon of Globalization and cultural convergence in the contemporary world and the gradually disappearing of regionality and nationality in architecture culture have caused extensive attention. Facing this cultural crisis, people realized the necessity and imminency of respecting nature and carrying forward the tradition of the regional culture anew. And this hastened people to explore the regional culture contained in the traditional building, to consider again how to preserve the inheritance of this culture, how to design the contemporary regional architecture.The influence and restriction of the regional objective natural condition, is a important reason of producing and forming regionality of tranditional building. The specific environment, forms the specific humanism environment, the traditional concept and ideology, as well as the custom culture and the the living habits. All of these influence the traditional building directly, and have been reflected concentratedly in its unique regional characteristic. Bashu is located in the southwest inland of our country, has centuries-old history. Its geography condition is complex, the climate characteristic is unique, the culture is multiplex. The plentiful accumulation of culture had bred the unipue style of traditional architecture. Especially the traditional residence building which is the crystal of the Bashu people's wisdom had exhibited rich and colorful regional culture. Thus to research the regional characteristic of Bashu traditional building would to have a high cultural value and profound historical significance. This article classified and overviewed the Bashu traditional building by the geographical environment and the background of the Bashu regional culture. Then researched the relationship between the Bashu traditional building and the regional natural geography condition, and analysed the effect of the traditional ideology, the custom culture, as well as the lifestyle and customs on the the regional characteristic of the Bashu traditional building. Analysed of the objective conditions, and extended to ideological and cultural dimensions, at last, called for that"search the activated regional architecture culture"to advance the design of the Bashu regional architecture.The introduction of Chapter one had illuminated the background, the significance, and the range of this study, and listed overall structureal context and framework of the article; Chapter two had emphatically described the characteristic of the Bashu regional natural geography condition and the background of regional culture, to make necessary preparative for the back-to-back chapters; Chapter three had classified the Bashu traditional building, to understand the styles of it and the regional culture in it; Chapter four and five had researched the relationship between the traditional building and the natural geography condition, including climate and geography. Chapter five had emphatically research the regional characteristic reflected by the tradition building material and the technology of construction, to reflect the relationship between building and nature from the side face; Chapter six had analyzed the regional culture contained in the Bashu traditional building from space characteristics, types, build way and detailed decoration; Chapter seven had aggregated the active regional culture factors of the Bashu traditional architecture, and had explored the design of the indigenous regional architecture of Bashu, to brought forward some techniques of design.This study had been built on a lot of basic information aggregated by predecessors. It had re-collected information, and enriched the research of the regional characteristic of the Bashu traditional architecture further more through analyzing and sorting from reality. And tried to discuss on the regional culture characteristic from some new perspectives, to hope can have a specific and comprehensive interpretation.
