Continuously variable transmission is widely used in home and abroad for its stability in rotation speed and reliability in the process of working. It is characterized by constant-power, high efficiency, simplicity in structure, easy in maintainance and relatively inexpensiveness in price.Compared with one-speed and multi-speed device , continuously variable transmission can change its speed continuously when needed. Thus, continuously variable transmission is the trend of transmission field nowadays. But it also takes some disadvantages, such as high demand of precision in its component and high requirement in lubrication, low in capability of loading and bad performance in overloading-resist and impulse-resist,which limit the continuously variable transmission only to the small and medium power transmission. Non-frictional continuously action transmission which this paper present is one type of mechanical transmission. It takes all the benefits mentioned above and the advantages of linkage mechanism which is used as its function generator but along with some disadvantages. The paper extends previous reseach on the project sponsored by Chongqing Science and Technology Committee-"Reasearch on non-frictional continuously action pulsating transmission".On the basis of existing experimental model, analysis and research is made to solve the prombles in design and in practice. The primary objectives of the study are: further improving the stability, reducing the fluctuation and improving precision and scope in speed control with means of finding the relationship between teeth number and quatity of pawl and reasonably designing the structure of them. Theoritical analysis along with aid of software such as ADAMS, the 1.5KW model is established and optimized in which the input, output and maximun rotation speed are1500rpm,150rpm and 300rpm respectively. Many types of non-frictional continously action transmission with different strcture are also present in this paper. The theory of the non-frictional continuously action transmission is further perfected with thorough research. The potential of coupler is fully excavated, and a new way for innovative design is provided.
