It is well known to all, international environment is continuously changing, and terrorism is occurring uninterruptedly in many countries, the means of crime are also becoming more shifting and variable, therefore, the safety is becoming more and more importance. The new-style security inspection equipments with high efficiency and veracity, are being applied in many fields such as airport, harbor, railway station, bus station, customs, port office, government department, court and school for reeducation through labor, where it need to inspect the packages.In the domain of security inspection, many kinds of security inspection technology are applied, such as hologram inspection, nuclear magnetic resonance, X-ray detection technology and so on. X-ray equipment has already been approved to have the ability to acquire the character of numerator or atom inner, and inspect contraband well. Compared with other security inspection equipments, the one based on X-ray is characteristic of superior performance, low cost, and less radiation dosage, nay it can also meet the demand passenger traffic volume of every checkpoint. So the security inspection equipment based on X-ray is the mostly popular inspection equipment all over the world.Though series of X ray based security inspection equipments had been applied widely, the technology used in these equipments is not perfect, they can not inspect prohibited articles accurately, especially the newly emerged exploder in recent years, except for the newly emerged helical architecture security inspection CT system, the currently security inspection equipments can not inspect this kind of exploder exactly. The purpose of this paper is to compare the advantages and disadvantages of different X-ray inspection technologies by studying the X-ray inspection technology, then confirm the dual-energy X-ray CT technology on the practical situation.This paper is mainly did the research for the dual-energy X-ray detect system. And then system design has been completed elementarily. All the work done in this thesis acts as pre-research of the dual-energy X-ray CT security detect system, and found a firmly fundamental base for the further research. The main work of this paper: introduced the principle and technology of X ray detection, compared all the detect technology and did further research in the algorithm of dual-energy X-ray detection; analyzed and designed the main parameters of the system, made the selection of the main components of the dual-energy X ray detect system; made the selection of the driving system and designed the driving system to make sure the object can run stably; designed the wholly system's dimension and mechanic architecture, then drew the CAD schematic; designed the scheme of control system based on the performance requirements.
