It will be in a new era that urban underground tunnel engineering prosperously develops in our country. But in site engineering case, it brought hard difficult to design work that the space of underground tunnel relating to is so huge and the geotechnical reconnaissance datum required is so much. It is the main point in this thesis to solve this problem.The virtual situ of geotechnical engineering not only offers plenty of information, but also makes it possible to seek and analyze the datum required in great information according to the specific setting up. The datum required with synthetical optimization and analysis would be datum bases of some geotechnical engineering design. So it brings tremendous convenience to geotechnical engineering design that integrating geotechnical engineering module into this platform, which directly transmits datum bases on the virtual situ to geotechnical engineering design module, automatically and interactively solving the design work. It is the way of thinking of this thesis.It is introduced that, the common functions of GIS and the theory of geographical statistics and the algorithm theory of the computer geometric figure used for the realization of these functions. It is introduced that method of simulating the underground tunnel excavating in software ABAQUS in finite element method and the yield criterion of Mohr-Coulomb that being used in module. Finally, integrating underground tunnel excavation design module based on the virtual situ of Hang Zhou City geotechnical engineering developed by Protection and disaster proof institute in Zhejiang University of Technology, some research on some points of the route of Hangzhou subway project are done, which makes it come true that the tunnel excavating simulation analysis and the virtual situ of Hang Zhou City geotechnical engineering.In the paper, the finite element method simulation program of the underground tunnel excavation and geographic information system (GIS) is organically combined. Making use of the big and powerful function of data collection, management ability, space inquiry and analytical ability of the geographic information system. It is also solved that the traditional problems of complex choosing of the diversity of the fmite element compute module,parameter that the tunnel is confronted with and selecting the datum with great difficult because of the quantity is too huge, which is the brightened dot of the thesis.
