15cm is the classic dimension for study the aerodynamic characteristics of micro air vehicles at low Reynolds numbers. To design the 15cm fixed-wing micro air vehicle, the most complex aerodynamic problems at low Reynolds numbers for low Aspect-ratio wings will be faced.Based on the study of aerodynamic characteristics of the low Aspect-ratio wings at low Reynolds number flows, the shape design of the 15cm fixed-wing micro air vehicle was given. Based on the momentum theory and blade element theory, a numerical modeling is made to analyze the micro aero vehicle's airscrew's thrust characteristics. The modeling applicability is validated through tests. And based on these, the conceptual design scheme is confirmed. Using finite volume method based on the Euler formula and Navier-stokes formula, a numerical modeling is made. Numerical simulations are made to test the micro air vehicle's aerodynamic characteristics. Wind tunnel tests are taken to research the flow field's characteristics. To analysis the computing and test results, the feasibility of conceptrual design is verified. Using the aerodynamic data, the micro air vehicle's flying performances are analyzed.
