The advanced military nacelle is a main system to load multi-function airborne electronic warfare weapon which is based on airplane. In order to realize the function of the nacelle, the current supply should be solved at first. And, the autonomous electric power generation system just serves as an effective problem-solving method. As the most important part of autonomous electric power generation system, the ram air turbine's performance deeply affects the efficiency of power supply of the system. The tip clearance has much effect on the properties of the ram air turbine. It's necessary to study the effect of ram air turbine in order to improve the system performance. In this paper the performance of ram air turbine under different tip clearance was studied with the software of CFD---FLUENT. The calculation was based on N-S equation, 3-D, steady, implicit solver, k ~εturbulence model with standard wall functions. After computational results compared with the experiment values, the method of calculation and simulation to the ram air turbine is proved to be correct. This method is foundation to the calculation of the use of the ram air turbine in other ways such as air refueling system.
