With the development of new technique and materials,in addition with the abundant application of new processes,more and more attention are paid to the airship as a unique flight vehicle because it has great value in the military and civilian domain. Based on the domestic knockdown airship, this article studies the magnetic materials and docking mechanism for the airship. The main work are as follows:(1) According to the requirements of the airship docking and the environmental characteristic, devise with magnetic rubber and flexible coil of the docking mechanism for airship. Through control the intensity and direction of electrical current, the structure can achieve the airship docking and separation .(2)Through analyze the properties of the magnetic powder and rubber, chose the representational strontium ferrite and NdFeB magnetic powder mixing with polymeric and natural rubber to produce magnetic rubber. Then test the mechanics and magnetic properties of the magnetic rubber and observe the microstructure of magnetic rubber to discover the influence of magnetic powder content,the kind of coupling agent,the method of surface treatment and the temperature and time of vulcanization. The test results showed that natural rubber with magnetic powder which is dealed with 1.1~1.2% of silane coupling agent can produce magnetic composites with good properties.(3) The experiment results for flexible coil showed that the properties of flexible coil made by hand is consistent with theoretical values.(4)Analyses the characteristic of docking mechanism showed the project can satisfy with the requirements during airship docking and separation.
