A great number of power electronic applications result in very bad harmonic pollution. As a result of it, Power Factor Correction has become one research direction in power electronics. Along with the development of integrate circuit and digital control technology, PFC technology combining with digital control has become one of the research focuses in power electronics.At present, a great many of digital control arithmetic for PFC is derived from analog control method, so it can't show the advantages of digital control. In this paper, a PFC arithmetic based on digital sine wave current reference has been discussed, including the structure of this improved arithmetic. The arithmetic has been proved to be better performence by Matlab simulation and demo experiment.Because of the complexity and the large calculation of traditional arithmetic, a new simple PFC arithmetic has been introduced in this paper, considering the characteristic and the advantage of digital control. This arithmetic of duty cycle prediction has many advantages, such as simple arithmetic, parallel process and short calculation time. In this paper, this arithmetic has been analyzed in detail and simulated by Matlab. Finally this arithmetic has been tested in a PFC prototype. The experiment results show good effect and better execution efficiency.
