The heat transfer numerical simulation about whole internal combustion engine is acoupled computer simulation related to the flow, combustion, convective heat transfer of gasin cylinder; the heat conduction of components in combustion chamber and the flow heatrelease of Circulating coolant. The heat transfer numerical simulation about whole internalcombustion engine can solve many transfer problems that can't do by other ways likeexperiment and general numerical simulation. For example: coupled heat transfer problemabout piston set-cylinder, coupled heat transfer problem about cylinder head-cylinder headgasket-cylinder liner-cylinder block, and other transfer problems about solid component-solidcomponent,liquid-solid component. In the future, the heat transfer numerical simulationabout whole internal combustion engine will be a mainstream in the field of the numericalsimulation about whole internal combustion engine. With the high development of computerand numerical simulation methods, the numerical simulation of heat transfer in whole internalcombustion engine must realize in the future.The heat transfer simulation of contact Component System has been the key objective ofthe whole heat transfer research. This paper explores deeply this research. The following isthe contents of this work:1. The engineering and theoretical significance in the research of internal combustionengine heat transfer were firstly discussed. Its characteristics were analyzed thoroughly and itsdevelopment and present state was also summarized.2. Supplement systematically the conception of heat transfer complete model simulation,introduce the production and problem correlation to heat transfer complete model simulation,then study the model of the heat transfer numerical simulation about whole internalcombustion engine. The simulation is an important base for heat transfer complete modelsimulation further research.3. With the finite element method, the steady heat transfer of the coupled ComponentSystem in combustion chamber has been successfully simulated on the basis of above models.The distribution of the steady temperature about coupled system are predicted, and thecalculation and analysis about the heat balance in combustion chamber are carry out. The finalsimulation results show a good agreement with the available experimental data, which can beused as the theoretical basis for the thermal load study and the research work of the diesel engine.4. The cyclic instantaneous heat transfer about the coupled system of cylinderhead-cylinder head gasket-cylinder liner-piston set has been successfully simulated on thebasis of the simulation of the steady heat transfer. The distribution of the cyclic instantaneoustemperature about coupled system, the thickness curve of oil film, and the power lose of oilfilm are all predicted, the result will be a good way to improve lubricate system.5. Finally, the summary of the research work and some prospects in the study was given.
