Railway freight service features quick reaction and heavy haul service. Obviously, high speed transportation is guiding development of the current railway system, therefore, to enhance the progress of modernization for railway locomotive and rolling stock is of vital and urgent task among items for striding development of railways. With the uprising movement of Chinese railways and progress of electric railroad, the small tonnage full hydraulic railway crane becomes more urgently needed for development with characteristics of fast speed self-propelled running and high speed in train formation, hence, the high level requirement is resulted in terms of train formation and self-propelled running speed of railway crane. For 20t universal railway crane, features such as running with the load and weight lifting due to high hauling capacity are required besides hook lifting, bucket grabbing and magnetic panel lifting.NS0201 type 20t universal railway crane is designed and manufactured in order to meet the demand of full scale speed enhancing for railways. Speed in train formation for this railway crane is capable to reach 100km/h, the self-propelled running speed reaches 85km/h, while for the traditional railway crane, speed in train formation is no more than 85km/h, the self-propelled running speed is no more than 30km/h. Enhancement in terms of speed in train formation and self-propelled running speed has improved maneuverability of the crane operation and expanded the scope of operation.Comparing with the existing railway cranes, such 20t railway crane has become the brand new product with the utmost functions and highest rate for operation so far in China. The bogie for this crane is of H type weldable bogie, the primary suspension of the bogie is of journal box helical spring and wedge snubbing system. The side bearer loading and center plate hauling are adopted to the bogie, the equalized cylinder is fitted above the journal box.As this crane enjoys high speed in train formation and self-propelled running, the dynamic performance of this crane is necessarily to draw attention. The dynamic performance will be evaluated on the basis of index of dynamic performance and GB5599 "Dynamic Performance Evaluation and Test Accreditation Specification for Railway Rolling Stocks, the key points for analysis and calculation are hunting stability, ride quality and curve line negotiating capability.Through careful analysis and calculation, the proper friction coefficient of the side bearer and the equivalent taper of the wheel have to take into account to ensure good curve line negotiating capacity and requirement of the critical speed.
