In this dissertation the theories and methods for three-dimensional flow design and calculation of torque converter are presented in order to make further understanding to the real flow field of torque converter and improve its design level.First, the united equations of motion (UEM) for S1 flow are strictly derived from Navier-Stokes equations in the rotation coordinates, and the iteration techniques between S1 and S2 are applied to complete the calculation of three-dimensional inviscid flow field.Thirdly, the inviscid-viscous iteration technique is produced and applied to calculate the three - dimensional viscous flow field of YB355 torque converter, in which a good agreelne.nt of the calculation results with experiInents is obtained.Fourthly, it is also expounded the experimental priniciples and methods of testing the flow field in the rotating wheel of torque converter with two-dimensional Laser Dopple Anemometry (LDA) and made the measurement of the flow field of YB355 impeller and turbine in this paper.
