Study On Life Of Stress Corrosion Cracking Of Pre-stressed Concrete Structure Based On Damage Mechanics

Along with the development and application of pre-stressed concrete structure, its durability and corrosion problems were paid more attention gradually. The stress corrosion cracking failure of pre-stressed concrete structure often happened without any symptom , and brought great harm to the society . So developing research on life of stress corrosion cracking of pre-stressed concrete structure has an important reference value to improving pre-stressed concrete structure durability and anti-corrosion.After doing some research and analysis of stress corrosion cracking life , a approach to predict the life of pre-stressed concrete structure based on the damage mechanics theory was proposed. We can get the degradation rule of macro-mechanical properties in the progress of stress corrosion cracking.In this paper, the corrosion damage of pre-stressed steel was considered as uniform hole-type damage based on the damage mechanics theory. A method of predicting the life of pre-stressed concrete structure was proposed by analysising the distribution of effective stress and effective yield strength along radial direction of prestressing tendon. The prestressing tendon evolution law of damage depth and time for corresponding stress was got by fitting the relationship of damage depth and time for some different stresses.After the test of practical examples by using this method, the result of numerical simulation show identical views in contrast to practical results. It has reference value for ascertaining the time of structure detection and the design of life of stress corrosion cracking. etc.
