| Product Data Management (PDM) has become the core factor in the modern design process. Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), one of the most powerful simulation tools, needs to be integrated with PDM system to realize the information framework in the process of product design in enterprises, the CAE data, work flow and access control based on PDM system are the keys. In this thesis, the key technologies of the CAE data, work flow and access control based on PDM system are discussed, practices are introduced as well, which are base on the 863 program and the automobile business.Firstly, the needs of CAE data management are analyzed, the various kind of CAE data are classified, the way of'Item'based data storage is presented, and a cache-like solution of data storage is shown, the keys of which are also introduced. Secondly, based on the needs of product design cooperate process in the enterprise environment, the models of CAE-related flow, such as review request and change work flow of CAE, are been described based on work-flow net theory, the features of the model are discussed, and how to realize the models in PDM system is shown with the technologies that enables them. Then, because the high level of the CAE data access permission, the data safety model in PDM is given, a method of combination of both rule-based static access control and the dynamic access control is presented, which is a assurance of CAE data safety, the keys of this method are also introduced.The implement of the technologies shown above in a 863 supported project in one of the auto companies is considered a success; examples of the CAE data, work flow and access control based on PDM system are given.
