Self-anchored suspension bridge is newly developed in recent years, which, on account of its pleasant appearance, great flexibility and satisfactory economic features, has been rapidly applied in China. As regard to self-anchored Pre-stressed Concrete (PC) suspension bridge, there are few references with respect to this structure, and there are fewer literatures regarding its construction. Self-anchored suspension bridge is a structure that can achieve structural balance by itself, and construction procedure of which is different from suspension bridge with ground anchors. Specifically, it is so built in the procedure that firstly main girder is cast-in-place on scaffold, then main cable is erected, and finally suspenders are tensioned. Suspender tensioning is always an emphasis and a difficult point in self-anchored PC suspension bridge construction. This dissertation intents to optimize suspender tensioning procedure.By taking Xiaohuanghe self-anchored PC suspension bridge as an example, and from the aspects of its structural geometries and load carry features, this paper has expatiated the static digital simulation theories of this structure by taking into account the non-linear characteristics. Then spatial numerical analysis is conducted on cable system of this suspension bridge. Cable position of xiaohuanghe bridge is figured out, and a FEM software (ANSYS) is used to validate the numerical method and to confirm the bridge completion status.On the basis of comprehensive comparison regarding suspender tensioning approaches of self-anchored suspension bridge in the world, this dissertation adopts appropriate FEM system to simulate suspender tensioning procedure in order to find out deficiency in construction and to make improvement on tensioning. By means of analysis and comparison, the feasibility of proposed optimization scheme is validated.The optimization on suspender tensioning approach of self-anchored suspension bridge can save construction period, save manpower and resource and improve economic benefit.
