In this dissertation, the theory and method of safety engineering was applicated to the management of city gas pipeline safety. Build the remaining strength and life assessment methods of the city gas pipeline. This paper analyzes the current project buried steel pipeline detection methods and the principles of technical features. Combining the characteristics of city gas pipeline, a combination of various methods used to improve detection accuracy.Based on the analysis of soil erosion and the maximum depth of corrosion pits the development of pipeline, Corrosion factors was divided into time and environmental factor. Used the artificial nerve network to establish the pipeline corrode rank and the most greatly corrode pit depth forecast model. To overcome thel imitation and disadvantage of existed assessment method ,the Finite Element Analysis was performed on corroded submarine pipeline to obtain more accurate solution in which the elastic-plastic model considered the nonlinear of Geometry and the nonlinear of material was used. The comparison between result of Finite Element Analysis and that of existed criteria shows that the residual strength ofcorroded pipeline predicted by the FEM is greater than that predicted by existed criteria and has a good accuracy. At the same time, the analysisals overified the conservation of existed criteria. The resultc an provide reference on engineering practice.Evaluation of the remaining life is a key component of pipeline integrity. This paper assessment corrosion and reliable residual life of pipeline. The reliable remaining life can synthesize the consideration to affect the city fuel gas pipe network security each kind of factor.
