By completely studying the engineering geologic condition of the surrounding rock and environment of Wanshishan tunnel in the highway to Xiamen Airport, Based on the theoretical research , field monitoring and engineering application, the very difficult problem of excavation under the transmission tower of ultra high voltage and large and complicated ground buildings in the central area of the city was solved successfully. The main research works have been done as follows:(1) The classification of blasting vibration wave and its propagation regularity are investigated and the difference between blasting vibration and natural earthquake is studied. How to selection and characterization of vibration parameters is summarized. These expressions afford some theoretical bases for monitoring and analyze of blasting vibration.(2) The vibration of ground buildings are monitored used EXP3850 instrumentation during the process of digging the tunnel. The experimental data are analyzed and processed through binary regression using a Matlab program. The attenuation laws of blasting vibration conform to the surrounding environment of wanshishan tunnel wad concluded. It can give guidance to the drilling work.(3) The blasting vibration waves are studied through time domain, frequency domain and power spectrum analysis and the range of frequency was put forward. At last, the safety criterion considering frequency was conducted.(4) The field test was carried out through millisecond blast and controlling the outmost explosive quantity and increasing free-surface. On the condition of the difference of cut pattern, blasting parameters and delay time four blasting design are put forward and the reasonable blasting parameter was proposed. The vibration velocities of the surrounding buildings were controlled in order to ensure Wanshishan tunnel construction smoothly.(5) The investigation could be used as references in the design and construction of tunneling engineering under the similar conditions.
