The demand for high data rate and/or high mobility wireless communication applications has increased sharply over the last decade or so, The support of the multimedia service (including speech, image and video ) in the wireless channel is the trend of the communication system. It may not be efficient or even practicable to expand the channel capacity by purely increasing the bandwidth and transmit power due to the limitation of the spectral resources, which has motivated the analysis and design of various multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication systems. Compared to the single antenna case, multi-antenna channels exhibit enhanced Shannon capacity in a rich scattering environment. Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna technology is promising for high speed wireless communications without increasing the transmission band width. This thesis focuses on several issues of wireless MIMO communication system. In the context we described various contents concerning the simulation of the MIMO channel. Firstly, the design method, the processing procedures as well as the generation of the correlated fading coefficients of the simulation were discussed. Secondly, based on the simulation methods and simulation platforms we had simulated the MIMO wireless channels of the MIMO systems, respectively to validate the model that we proposed. A lot of simulation results were presented, including the fading characteristics, the spatial correlation and the channel capacity, etc. The results were analyzed and compared with the theoretical values and the measurement data from reference materials. In the fields of wireless mobile communication, diversity techniques have been widely used to reduce the effects of multi-path fading ,here several technologies were explored and emphasis were put on the transmit diversity techniques Space-Time code uses spatial and temporal coding technology to fight multi-path fade in combination with the technology of coding, modulation and diversity, which can improve the communication and quality and increase the efficiency of the channel simultaneously. Here three kinds of Space-Time coding methodologies were investigated and the corresponding performance analyzed.Three novel computationally efficient detection algorithms were proposed with respect to the topic of signal detection for MIMO system, two of which are the fast implementation methods of layered space-time (V-BLAST) detect on algorithms thatwere less complex than existing algorithms and degradation avoided. With the development of the shipping industry, it has become a prominent issuethat the high-speed data communications for coastal shipping were restricted by the limitation of the existing technology. People have expected to solve this problem with a new generation of wireless communication technology in the fields of maritime communications. However, this new technology remains in a theoretical and laboratory testing stage, and couldn't been applied commercially in a short time. Therefore, it is of theoretical and applicable importance to investigate the key technology for MIMO Communication Systems, especially the research in the physical layer of communication systems.
