Unscrable The Image Of The Rural Landscape

Ever since the reform and opening to the outside world in the 1980s, along with the acceleration of economic construction, China is stepping into an era of fast urbanization. Consequently, social, economical and spatial structures have changed tremendously, which has brought huge impact on rural landscape. So it is an important task of rural landscape planning to protect the integrity and identity of rural landscape, and to develop rural ecology, production, life and entertainment. Rural landscape disposition, in turn, is the basis for rural landscape planning, and meanwhile, appropriate, accurate and landmark landscape is the goal of rural landscape planning. So only after a better understanding about the contemporary Chinese image of rural landscape can the rural landscape planning fit for China come out.On the basis of summarizing the concept of rural landscape and the relative subjects in China concerning rural landscape planning, rural landscape, urban landscape and resort landscape are compared, which helps bring out a new concept of rural landscape. At the same time, the historical changes of rural landscape are divided chronologically into agricultural times, industrial times and post-industrial times, and a conclusion and an outlook are made regarding the evolution of Chinese rural landscape.Then a sample of 91 city residents is selected to analyze their ideal rural landscape through open questionnaire. According to the statistics from the questionnaire, factors influencing contemporary Chinese rural landscape images are divided into four aspects: literature, drawings, movies and childhood memories. Besides, six parameters are concluded: farmland landscape, natural environments, structures, animals, humans, and roads, and further every parameter and their relationships are illustrated.Finally, there are some ideas about the design process of rural landscape. Synthesized with the comprehension of Chinese rural landscape, five principles of rural landscape are put forward: scenario, process, identification, convenience and economy. Through the tourism planning case of Yiqian town of Guangchang county in Jiangxi, rural landscape maintenance, and the design trains of thought and method are explained.
