Signal analysis and processing involves almost all the engineering and technical fields. As a realization of signal analysis technology, Dynamic signal analyzer is used widely in computer manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, military, electronics, telecommunications and other high-tech areas for product quality testing, vibration control and test diagnosis.Presently, most available products are made by foreign corporations. Furthermore, they are narrow in frequency range, low real-time processing ability and expensive in price. Therefore, it has great positive significance to develop independent dynamic signal analyzer which has wide dynamic range, real-time performance, wide frequency range, high signal noise ratio, and multi-functions. The whole system is composed of the hardware system which is based on DSP processor and visual instrument (LabVIEW). By using visual instrument design method and mature computer architecture, it becomes possible to design low-cost and highly reliable dynamic signal analyzers and meets the performance targets. Because of the appearance of Virtual Instrument, the software design becomes an important part to the whole instrument system. This paper designed a series of software module which includes FFT analysis, histogram analysis, correlation analysis, frequency response / consistency analysis and the peak harmony wave analysis. To stationary random signal, this paper used power spectral analysis algorithms. This paper analyzed the classical power spectral method - period method and Welch method. It also studied modern power spectral method which is based on AR module and realized the Burg algorithms. By combination of LabVIEW and MatLAB, it optimized the power spectral analysis module. At the same time, it also compared and analyzed the two power spectral algorithms. This thesis is divided into six chapters.Chapter one: It mainly introduces the researching situation and development of dynamic signal analyzer in domestic and foreign countries. Also, this chapter explains the development and significance of power spectral analysis.Chapter two: This section primarily introduces the configuration of hardware system and the realization of various functional modules as well.Chapter three: This chapter describes the power spectral analyzing methods, which is mainly on Welch method of the classical power spectral analysis, and AR model method of modern power spectral analysis as well as Burg algorithm.Chapter four: The design and realization of the PC application developed by the virtual instrument platform Lab VIEW was introduced. The application has excellent interface between man and machine, and it takes charge of parameter setting, real-time control, display, signal analysis, file manage, etc. It realized hardware control, results displaying and analysis. It also explains how to call MatLAB in Lab VIEW for achieving the function of power spectral analysis.Chapter five: Signal processing function test: With comparing the results between this instrument and Horizon dynamic signal analyzer, it shows that the system reached its good performance. Power spectral analyzing test: Classical power spectral analysis and modern power spectral analysis results were compared by acquiring typical signal. The results show that both of the methods realize power spectral analyzing function. But the resolving power of AR model is better than classical power spectral analysis.Chapter six: It summarizes the thesis. Main researching work and achievement are comprehensively summarized. In addition, it brings forward some designs that should be improved and make recommendations for future work.
