To develop underground space is an important component of modern cities construction. Shield construction will undoubtedly become the best option.Based on the success of several cases of the tunnel project, adaptation in different types of hydro-geological conditions, the issue mainly talks about the shell shield boring machine and its selection, which basically covers the more common types of shield machine type. On this basis, the paper has a reference value for the later project and the tunnel's construction.Secondly, the paper also takes one of the tunnels from Shenyang Heavy Machinery Group, which produces the EPBΦ6280 hard rock shield machine for the study, carried out their knife-static finite element analysis. In three different conditions, the check in the structure's strength and stiffness, to a certain extent, improves the reliability of knife-structural design and the overall level, also has a certain value on research and the shield tunnel construction.In actual construction, the shell of the knife-edge situation is extremely complicated. Besides big torque, big thrust and the impact load, the tunnel also bears loads from the surrounding environments. Given difficulties and complexity of the identification of the shield cutter load, and the limited time of the study, the paper only has an analysis of idealistic and simplified model, which is inevitable different from the actual situation. Hope to have follow-up study of this topic and can load the situations more practical and take further research of driving force and dynamic response.
