Rock-socketed pile is pile foundation which shaft is embedded partly or entirely in rock. By reason of its high bearing capacity, small settlement and goof anti-earthquake property it has been mainly used in bridge, tall structure and heavy mill building.Firstly, through deeply discussing of the load-bearing mechanics of rock-socketed piles and every calculating mode and effecting factors of the side friction resistance and the end resistance of piles, the actual methods of determination the vertical load-bearing capacity of rock-socketed piles were analyzed. We can found that some main factors effect pile side resistance and tip resistance, such as the nature of soil of pile shaft, the strength of pile shaft, the strength of rock, the distributing of soil layer of pile shaft, the bearing layer of tip of pile, the depth of rock-socketed, the technology of making pile and so on.This paper deeply introduced the settlement capability of and several computation methods of single pile. The limitations of these methods are analyzed, and then introduce the development of these methods. Besides, the author analyzed and compared some main methods of computing the single-pile settlement.Analyzed the factors of which affect top settlement and tip settlement of rock-socketed pile, such as pile diameter, pile length, material of soil of pile shaft and material of rock of tip pile, rock-socketed depth and so on. Using elasticity theory analysis the settlement of pile embedded in rock of tip pile and top pile.In this thesis through the large geotechnical software ANSYS, analyzes and researches the factors of pile length, pile diameter, rock strength of pile tip, material of pile shaft, rock-socketed depth and so on which affect rock-socketed pile are analyzed. And some conclusions and suggestions are being taken: rock-socketed pile has the best socket length, but it hasn't the longest socket length, this paper recommends the best socket length is 5~6m, choose C30 for concrete grade and 1.4m for diameter of pile shaft.
