The main work of this paper is concerned on the method of FPN (Fuzzy Petri Net) Theory, which could handle the uncertain information from protective relays and circuit breakers, it has execllent ability to deal with the parellel caculation and has good fault-tolerance capability. In this paper, methods of fault diagnosis in transmission network and their advantages and disadvantages were discussed at first. Focus on the problems of online application, FPN were included. Then, considering the actual operating conditions and misoperations, the action validity of the protections and circuit breakers were discriped by their action reality. But with the expansion of the scale of modern power systems, it would tend to combination exploding. Base on this, incidence matrix reduction was inculded in this paper and Credible Matrix was bulit to discrib the various state in reasoning. Finally, procedure system based on Fuzzy Petri Net were established. Its validity and feasibility were testified by part of IEEE-118 system and Zhao qing transmission network system of Guang dong.
