In recent years, technology of urban rail transit has progressed a lot. As these structures have to pass through down town, construction height becomes a main limitation to the construction plan, and this leads to trough girder causes more attention. The reason for this is that trough girder can reduce construction height of structure obviously. In addition to this, there are many other merits, such as low noise, high using rate of section, beautiful appearance, low cost etc.This paper mainly researches the behavior of trough girder by using Finite Element Analysis Software ANSYS. The calculated values are compared with measured values, and it proves that it is a proper method to research behavior of trough girder with ANSYS.This paper focuses on shear lag and sensitivity analysis of structure. There are shear lag phenomenon on deck slab, as well as negative shear lag phenomenon, they are all affected by depth and width of deck slab.It was also found that the depth of deck slab and height to span influenced the behavior of the structure.Based on the reasults of sensitivity analysis, this paper proposes another single track trough girder. Compared to the original structure, the width and height of the new girder were minimized. As more and more urban rail transits are going to be construced, the behavior of trough girder response to urban rail transit loading was studied.
