Here this paper does some research on the landscape architecture of the urban rivers.This paper analyses the current situation of the landscape architecture of Songhua River flowing through Jilin City and points out that the landscape architecture of the urban rivers should be carried out according to its geographical features, combined with protecting its ecology and recovering its ecology. Furthermore, this paper puts forward the designers should do more research on the natural features of the river, its history and its culture as well. The landscape architecture of the urban river must express the compound function of the river and combine the natural landscape, humane landscape with the urban landscape so that the landscape architecture of the urban river can really meet the economic need of the city.
