Tianshan Road(from K560 to K1090) about 530km long is important segment of national highway NO.217 which are main traffic of connecting North and South Sinkiang province region. Tianshan Road also is important part of road building in the west and national defence. It has an important significance to ensure the road expedite. The Routh of Tianshan road is from Xiaolongchi to Kuche (from K959 to K1090) and about 130km long. The road was build by low standard and after so many years running, there are many kinds of geological hazards. By the investigation in locale,we have found so many geological hazards containing twenty-one fallings, fourteen solifluctions and one landslide ,which is doing damage to the road and Some of them are unstable.This paper researched the environment engineering geology of the south of Tianshan road on the base of investigation in the scene and collecting of date. Firstly, this paper summarizes environment of geology, analyses the distributing characteristic of geological hazards and TSMR, and made the subsection of environment engineering geology. Secondly this paper analysed the slope stabilization to research the characteristic of every subsection; Finally, the paper compartmentalize the road to thirty -seven cell, analysed the relation of fitting degree to build and run the road with landform and physiognomy, structure of slope, condition of structural plane, entironment, effect of freeze-thaw, slope excavation, educed the estimate of fitting degree to build and run the road and give the advice.The geological hazard of slope is dong so many damage to the road. The expedite Tianshan Road is very important to strengthen intercommunion between the north and the south of Sinkiang province. This paper not only fills the blank of study on the environment engineering geology in the Routh of Tianshan area but also provides references to the trouble of geology in the other area to have similar condition.
